Pastry Chef

We are looking for an experienced Pastry Chef to prepare a variety of desserts, pastries or other sweet goods for full time employment at an upscale retirement resort.

MINIMUM EDUCATION-TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

Any combination of education, training, and experience, which demonstrates the knowledge and skill to perform the duties and responsibilities as described including successful experience as pastry chef preparing food in a country club setting; leadership experience is desirable. Have the ability to obtain a Food Safety Certification within the first month of employment.

REQUIREMENTS

1. Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English.

2. Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and nights.

3. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.

4. Must be able to bend, stoop, reach above your head and do repetitive hand movements, i.e. chopping and cutting.

5. Required to wear proper attire.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Under general direction of the Foodservices Director, prepare and bake all dessert items which include pies, pastries, cakes, and cookies using appropriate recipes and food safety procedures
• Create new and exciting desserts to renew our menus and engage the interest of residents
• Maintain a Clean and orderly cooking station and adhere to health and safety standards

Skills

• Proven experience as Pastry Chef, baker or relevant role
• Great attention to detail and creativity
• Working knowledge of baking with ingredient limitations (pastries that are gluten free, sugarless, etc.)
