Job Summary

The Painter is responsible for completing residential and commercial painting projects in accordance with Fresh Coat Painters’ production standards and the Painting Contractors Association of America (PCA) best practices. This role requires professionalism, attention to detail, teamwork, and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship while providing an excellent customer experience.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities General Responsibilities

• Perform painting and related tasks in accordance with Fresh Coat production standards and PCA guidelines.
• Maintain company quality standards while working as a reliable team player.
• Support fellow painters and the Operations Manager to ensure project success.
• Represent the Fresh Coat brand professionally at all times.

Planning & Jobsite Preparation

• Arrive at job sites on time and report to the Operations Manager for daily goals and instructions.
• Respect customer property, boundaries, and personal space at all times.
• Assist in setting up a clean, organized work area for tools, equipment, and materials.
• Understand daily production goals and monitor progress to meet or exceed expectations.
• Pre-plan tasks and materials needed for the following workday.

Painting & Production

• Prepare surfaces properly (patching, sanding, caulking, masking, priming).
• Apply paint, stains, and coatings using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Maintain clean, safe, and efficient work practices.
• Protect customer furnishings, floors, and property.
• Perform thorough clean-up at the end of each workday and upon project completion.

Qualifications Required

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Dependable, punctual, and professional.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor for extended periods.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (preferred or required per location).

Preferred

• Prior residential or commercial painting experience.
• Familiarity with PCA standards or professional trade experience.
• Experience working in customer-occupied homes or commercial spaces.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and perform repetitive motions.
• Ability to work at heights and in varying environmental conditions.
• Ability to safely handle tools, ladders, and painting equipment.

Work Environment

• Residential and commercial job sites.
• Indoor and outdoor work environments.
• Exposure to paint, solvents, and construction materials with proper PPE.
