What You Will Do

The Cash Applications Specialist will operate under general supervision and adhere to established policies and procedures. Key responsibilities include processing and posting deposits, payments, denials, and adjustments, as well as reconciling manual and electronic batches. This role also involves executing additional tasks assigned by supervisors.

The position offers a hybrid work schedule, requiring two days in the San Marcos, CA office, and three days working from home.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post payments accurately.
  • Log and sign out payment batches with time received.
  • Identify and categorize invoices for payment batching.
  • Follow established protocols for posting payments and adjustments.
  • Balance all groups to correspond with batch totals.
  • Log time completed for payment batches.
  • Conduct research for unusual or complex payments.
  • Monitor and resolve any payments needing further clarification.
  • Review billing statements for address updates and payment confirmations.
  • Assist with special project postings and evaluations.
  • Manage records upkeep and assist with mail processing as needed.
  • Securely maintain and dispose of documents as per policy.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by supervisors.

What You Will Need

  • High School Diploma or GED, or 3 years of equivalent experience in lieu.
  • 0-2+ years of experience in office, operations, customer service, or healthcare.

What Would Be Nice To Have

  • 6+ months of experience in payment posting.
  • 1-3 years of related experience with medical reimbursement knowledge.
  • Familiarity with CPT and ICD-9/10 coding.

The annual salary range for this position is $38,000.00 - $63,000.00, dependent on qualifications and experience. Guidehouse offers a comprehensive benefits package aimed at supporting diverse and inclusive work culture.
