We are seeking a dedicated and attentive Supervised Visitation Observer to ensure safe, supportive, and structured visitation sessions between children and their families. This vital role involves monitoring interactions, upholding safety protocols, and fostering a positive environment to promote healthy family relationships. You will help protect children's well-being while providing essential support to families and caseworkers.

Key Responsibilities
- Observe and monitor parent-child interactions during supervised visits to ensure safety and appropriate behavior.
- Enforce visitation guidelines and protocols in accordance with court orders and agency policies.
- Maintain accurate, objective, and detailed documentation of all visits, including notes and incident reports.
- Intervene promptly and appropriately using de-escalation techniques to manage conflict or distress.
- Maintain a neutral, professional, and supportive presence to encourage positive family engagement.
- Uphold strict confidentiality regarding all case information and family interactions.
- Collaborate effectively with caseworkers, supervisors, and other professionals as required.
Schedule & Availability
- Must be available 7 days a week for part-time, scheduled shifts.
- Shift 1: Monday – Thursday, hours between 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM.
- Shift 2: Weekend Rotation:
- Friday: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Saturday: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Sunday: 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience working with children (e.g., in a school, childcare, volunteer, or similar setting) is required.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Must successfully pass a Department of Services background check.
- Ability to comply with all confidentiality and privacy policies.
- Reliable transportation to and from visitation sites in the Hays/San Marcos area.
- Ability to remain calm, neutral, and professional in emotionally sensitive situations.
