Position Overview

Legend Networking is seeking an experienced Lead Network Installation Technician to join our team. This is a hands-on, field-based role responsible for leading and executing full network installations at client sites. The position requires end-to-end ownership of projects, from structured cabling and rack build-outs to configuring and validating enterprise networking hardware.

This role is ideal for a highly skilled technician who can work independently, lead installations with minimal supervision, and communicate effectively with both clients and internal teams. This position requires a minimum of five (5) years of experience and the ability to travel at least 50% of the time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and perform full-scale network installation projects at client sites
  • Install, terminate, label, and test low-voltage and structured cabling systems following industry best practices
  • Rack, stack, cable, and configure enterprise-grade networking equipment including routers, switches, firewalls, servers, backup appliances, and UPS systems
  • Build complete network racks from the ground up and bring all systems online with clean, professional cable management
  • Configure IP addressing, VLANs, and basic network settings to ensure proper connectivity and performance
  • Install and mount TVs and low-grade commercial audio systems as required
  • Perform comprehensive on-site and remote testing to validate network functionality and system stability
  • Troubleshoot and resolve cabling, hardware, and network connectivity issues during and after installations
  • Independently manage installations from project start through completion with minimal supervision
  • Maintain detailed and accurate documentation including rack diagrams, cabling layouts, and device configurations
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, project managers, and internal technical teams
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior technicians when assigned
  • Travel regularly to client locations, with an expectation of at least 50% travel, including overnight stays as required

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of five (5) years of hands-on experience in network infrastructure installation (required)
  • Proven experience with low-voltage and structured cabling in commercial or healthcare environments
  • Demonstrated ability to rack, stack, cable, and configure enterprise networking equipment independently
  • Experience building full network racks including routers, switches, servers, backup appliances, and power management equipment
  • Strong understanding of IP networking fundamentals, including IP addressing, subnetting, and basic VLAN configuration
  • Experience with commercial AV installations such as TV mounting and basic audio system setup
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage projects end-to-end
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel at least 50% of the time (required)
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to lift equipment, work in racks, and perform physical installation tasks

Additional Information

Candidates who do not meet the minimum five (3) years of experience requirement or who are unable to travel at least 50% of the time will not be considered.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.00 per week
