Nontenure Faculty Pool - Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry
The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry seeks to develop a pool of candidates for possible temporary/nontenured faculty to teach. Temporary/nontenured faculty are appointed to teach one to four courses per semester. Teaching appointments are based upon student demand on a semester-by-semester basis. Eligibility for annual reappointment is contingent upon satisfactory annual performance evaluations during the term period, in addition to continuity of funding and departmental/school need. Successful candidates will teach at the Texas State University campus in San Marcos, Texas. This posting is for the Fall 2025, Spring 2026, and Summer 2026 semesters. Please note that this posting is not intended to convey that such a need currently exists. Applicants applying for a pool faculty position will be available to the departmental search committee for consideration as the need arises.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of a master's degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry
- Strong academic background in one or more of the following areas: general chemistry, biochemistry, and organic chemistry
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- A Ph.D. in Chemistry or Biochemistry or a closely related field
- Previous experience teaching undergraduate courses as the instructor of record
- Previous experience coordinating and developing curriculum for undergraduate laboratories
