- Schedule: Full time; Dining Halls - AM and PM shifts available; Starbucks - Monday -Thursday 5p-1a, Friday 12p-6p; Blimpies Monday - Thursday 7a-4p
- Requirements: Must have leadership experience. Strongly prefer prior restaurant or food service experience. Must be able to lead by example, be professional, be reliable.

Summary
Direct the activities of associates during a specific shift and oversee that assigned job expectations are completed while policy and procedure are maintained. Coordinates the activities of the other food service employees within the facility. Creates an enjoyable dining experience for the customers, staff, and visitors in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local standards. Supports unit Management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensures high quality, good-tasting, and well-presented food and beverages are served within established time frames.
- Reviews menu and other production need to oversee and manage daily functions.
- Monitors staff daily to ensure all systems, protocols, and quality assurance tools are utilized correctly.
- Understands menu offerings and assists in menu adjustments to meet customer preferences, seasonal variations, and cost objectives.
- Visits guest service areas to assess satisfaction levels. Communicates findings as appropriate to the management team.
- Communicates to staff regularly, both formally and informally; holds team meetings regularly to ensure staff awareness of department activities.
- Enforces safety standards with employees. Places maintenance requests for malfunctioning equipment and removes it from use. Reports safety problems to the management team.
- Ensures sanitation standards are enforced daily and signs off on cleaning procedures.
- Responsible for providing training and corrective action, for current and newly hired team members.
- Prepare production or sales reports for management and ensure their unit meets the expectations for quality, productivity, and safety.
- May act as a mentor, assist with developing employees and encourage workers to set goals and strive for advancement within the organization.
- Provide quality customer service to customers by providing one on one attention to detail.
- Oversees and participates in the preparation and service of food and beverage items in adherence to company food standards for presentation, sanitation, and safety (meeting HACCP and OSHA guidelines) and portion control.
- Ensure timely and efficient meal service to all service areas. Supervises serving of meals.
- Responds to customer complaints in person at the time of the complaint.
- Trains employees in methods of performing duties and assigns and coordinates work of employees to promote the efficiency of operation and excellence in food and service.
- Expedites workflow and maintains Company standards to ensure the efficiency of the service line and the front of the house and back of the house.
- Utilizes proper systems for completion of required daily/weekly/monthly reports such as inventory-cash reports-production records, payroll/timekeeping, etc.
- Responsible for proper cash handling as established by the Cash Handling Policy. (Deposits - petty cash - change funds)
- Directs and participates in the overall sanitation and safety of the facility and employees in accordance with both company standards and government regulations.
- Develops sanitation schedule and ensures that food service employees adhere to the schedule for cleaning of kitchen, dining area, restrooms, and washing of kitchen utensils and equipment.
- Ensures the service line is maintained in a neat, clean, and visually appealing way for the guests; ensures all food, beverage, condiment, napkin/utensil stations are full and/or refilled quickly while maintaining time/temperature, sanitation, and safety standards.
- Issues written and oral instructions.
- Assists in the orientation of employees and oversees the training of staff in areas of responsibility.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; to write simple correspondence; to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written, or oral instructions; ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Other Qualifications: Food Handlers Card; ServSafe training and certificate as required by applicable state and county.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, talk or hear, and taste or smell. The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock and risk of radiation. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
